Final Illusion is an industrial act from Germany. This duo had their first release in 2000 and anno 2010 they released their second full length album “Execution”
The album starts off with a clear reference to the mentioned influences like Project Pitchfork. The danceable beats in combination with the deep and raw vocals that have been so stereotypical of them can be heard here as well. The band tends to be quite critical on society or whatever crosses their path, sarcasm isn’t a stranger to them and when not listening carefully enough you might miss the essence of the band. The album also contains some lighter songs, which would do good for just a dancing night out without too much worries. “Der Schänder” for example has enough accessible beats and loops to feel free to lock yourself for the lyrics. On the other hand “Final Illusion offers also some more aggressive, EBM tunes. Think of Suicide Commando to get an idea about the style they make when this comes up.
The band shows they have much diversity in their sound and will attract a wide audience with this album. It is as well a party album as an album that goes deeper. Final Illusion have done a great job by adjusting this diversity and make the album a must for a lot of industrial fans.
