Supports: Thursday, Poison The Well; Venue: Stadthalle, Offenbach (Germany)
By: Nina Mende
Tonight we rocked it big time: Rise Against was playing at the Stadthalle in Offenbach. The show was sold out. Many rock fans were attending this show. Mostly teenagers though. Support acts were “Poison The Well” and “Thursday”.
The first band Poison the Well is a post-hardcore/metalcore band from South Florida. Guitarist Ryan Primack and drummer Chris Hornbrook are the only remaining members of the band who have been involved since their inception, although vocalist Jeffrey Moreira has been the singer on all five full length albums. These three are considered the core members of the band. They jumped around and rocked out big time. And so did the audience. Unfortunately their show was very short. The singer talked a little with the audience and they appreciated it. |
Up next was Thursday. Thursday is a post-hardcore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey that has released five full-length albums. The audience seemed to know this band more than the last and rocked way more. Maybe the audience was only warmed up now. Anyway, they all sang and moved along, the cheering was loud and the band talked a lot to the audience in between each song. For a song Tim from Rise Against joined Thursday on stage. It was a very energetic show and they kept on moving around on stage for about 40 minutes and got the entire venue going along. |
The last band of the evening was Rise Against. Rise Against is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1999. As they entered the stage the audience was going wild. Many people did crowd surfing and many others had to be pulled out of the huge mosh pit and circle pit that was going on. The band jumped around all over the stage, never standing still. They had many fans rocking out big time. The band played old and new songs, talked a lot with their fans and were very social. On stage they had two screens where they played videos about war and crime on earth among other things. Further they put up different banners on these two screens as well as the American flag. It was a very energetic and thriving show. Everybody had a blast enjoying it big time. |
