Releasedate: 28-08-2009; Label: LIMB Music

The band Red Circuit was formed in 2006 and is led by Markus Teske , who has won an excellent reputation as producer and sound engineer for different bands. The band got a new line-up in 2009 Markus together with singer Chity Somapala, Chris Moser, Thomas Schmitt and Andy Klein formed the new backbone of the band. Markus Teske and his friend Andy Kuntz have composed, written and produced the new tracks on their new album “Homeland”. Andy Kuntz did not only helped with the tracks he also took care of the second vocals.

Red Circuit does sound a bit like bands like Dream Theatre but that is the path they would like to follow. Others have paved the way for them but Red Circuit had tried to use their own creativity to create more riff-oriented tracks that on this cd “Homeland” then on its predecessor. This band plays good quality power metal with some rock and progressive elements. Using deep vocals on an atmospheric background. The first notes that welcome you are some strings that are a nice backbone in the first track on the album Homeland. As said Red Circuit used their creativity on this album creating nice riffs and guitar solo’s which are very present all accompanied with a nice and pounding rhythm section. But besides well thought music the album is about humans hunger for war while it only brings death. Creating an album around this subject they have found the right doze of energy that burst out from the tracks like “Absinth” that starts off slowly. “The World Forgotten Sons” and “Sun of Utopia” are my favourites. These tracks are all on the first half of the CD, the other half is a bit of the same, with the same tricks on guitar and keyboard. They are still good tracks though but to me the first half of this CD is the better one although “Canonize Your Sins” is a great track with a kick ass guitar solo.
