Another night, another day goes by and Findustry is part of that. Day two of the event has an equally interesting bill.
Egokills is the first band we get to see on stage. They have that Hardrock sound and let no time go to waste by bringing it onto you.
Although their sound is not completely different from what we get here in masses at Tempelores, they do have some refinements that make them stand out. A quite passionate drummer makes himself quite present at the gig. Then, they have some riffs in there with a sense of love for some Thrash, yet the catchiness comes in to make it all approachable.
During their set they could have brought a bit more variation, but since it was a short set they manage to get away with it just balancing on the edge of being done with it. Looking for the song that defines them, we have not really seen that yet, but they seem a band that has time to get there. A nice start of the evening nevertheless.
The Physicists had their album release party tonight. Their new baby is called “My Love Is Dead” and follows up their 2011 album “Observation”.
As the name of the band suspects there is a certain theme to be found within their presence and tonight it was no wonder that we would get a show. A show with entertainment, but with music that has a certain splenetic tone in there. Danceable tunes are there though so a little few dancing around is not a strange sight at all.
But strange is exactly what is in an evening with The Physicists. Balloons are floating around, white to stay with the theme. And the audience gets involved when asked to be participating, seeing one getting pushed onto stage to play. A remarkable show by them Finns.
Forgotten Sunrise is a band from Estonia. They are filling in the blank spot after Crib45 had to cancel the night. They are a rather experimental Industrial act that uses a lot of effects and details to make their sound interesting.
Their show is however quite static. A minimalistic performance, no lightshow that really spices it up. And then the fact that they played so long they sort of hijacked the stage for the last band which was not appreciated much by the audience either. What would help this band is perhaps some videographics to extend their live experience. The long songs and minimalists approach just turns boring at some point while with some more extra’s they could certainly leverage themselves. In a festival like Findustry people simply expect more.
Iiwanajulma has no trouble with energizing people. With the intensity of the songs they are creating a vibe that opens up the floor for both people that enjoy it in its internal intensity as well as those who let themselves go and start a little moshpit.
For them as well the chance to play something new after spending time in studio working on a new release. The set is intense, having a diversity of tracks going from a calmer but piercing feeling towards the energy of a song like “Passiivisesta Väkivallasta” that makes us all a little bit wild inside.
Passionate words come by, but in Finnish. However the band is atmospherically always putting it down in such a way that no translation is needed to feel it. What a great way to end the evening!
Looking back at the evening you can say that this was such a diverse one. All the bands are apart from eachother and yet unite here in this festival. Which is exactly why Findustry is such a hotspot to be at in Finland where the days are getting colder and winter is lurking around the corner. Warm your heart and keep an eye out for a next edition!
