Ereb Altor is formed in 2003 containing two members of Isole. The band released five albums so far, the last one called “Nattramn” which is out now.
The band never made it a secret that they are influenced by Bathory and they never really got too far away from that sound. With their new release they may do another babystep away from it, but know that mom is still standing behind them. The doomy atmosphere in this release is leading and the Viking metal is having that ever warm connection with Black Metal in there still. What the guys improved on is the sound. It seems all a bit more worked out into the details, they obviously spend good time on it.
What is to mention is the keys as they have been placed beautifully in the sound becoming a strong addition to the music and leaving you with a lot of atmospherical elements. Then the band likes to play with the intensity levels to make you sink deeper into their sound.
“Nattramn” is a beautiful release that will find a wide audience. It will suit the Black Metal fan as well those who are into any depressive sound. The songs are in line with each other and form a great album.
