Volucrine – The Lead Heavens

Volucrine is a Finnish formation that makes Melancholic Metal. The band released an album called “The Clockwork Tyrant” last year and now is back with a brand new album. “The Lead Heavens” is out now.

The previous release came surprising. A lot of elements you would not expect and with a new album we would be more prepared to that, but yet it is all quite different this time. The band have put a focus on highlighting their own identity and give this a shape that sets it right there for you. A dreamy release in which the guys take you by the hand and be the tourguides through their sound. A lot of warm melodies brought together in well composed song telling you the story. The instrumental part is well balanced and let each member come out well. Then you can hear that the vocals have gone through an improvement also. They are now brought in slightly more modest way, complimenting the music just a little extra. Whether they are as raw as they can be or in its cleanest shape, the guys have given it some good attention.

Then let’s see what critique we had before, well.. just the little remark that the songs do not stick too much. Cross that off your list, because with “The Lead Heavens” you hear a more unique sound, more Volucrine and these tracks you will remember. Simply said: an excellent release for the Finns.
