Norwegian Black Metal formation Subliritum started in the late 90’s to release their debut album in 2003. It was relatively quiet for a while before the band come with a next one in 2011. This year their third full length album came out. “Downfall” is out now.
Epic Melodic Black Metal they name it and it only takes a minute of the album to see it covers the load quite well. Melodics are driving the sound and with some tempo changes the band easily creates different atmospheres within the song. Often building up the tension to let you fall back down for a while but don’t be scared, a safety net is there in the deep dark hole and you’ll be slowly pulled up giving you the change to listen to some good riffs, a present drummer and a vocalist that comes in on the right time. Here and there a sharp edge could have had a little more stress perhaps but overall the band sets a confident sound that keeps you interested throughout.
“Downfall” is an album that shows a band very secure of their sound. They know what they want to give you and done a good job with releasing an album that you will surely enjoy if you are into Melodic Black Metal.
