Tonight Klaas Heufer-Umlauf hit town with his new band Gloria.There were quite some people gathering for this event. The age of the audience was well mixed, from very young to mid-forties and older.

As the band around Klaas entered the stage the venue was quite crowded. All anxiously awaiting the guys to perform. Gloria had just released their debut album which they are now presenting live. AS the band entered the stage, it was silent for a second. Then the audience began to cheer. And the show began.

Three guitar players, a bass player and a drummer accompanied Klaas on his song. Beautiful German vocals combined with great and catchy melodies which the audience awarded with great cheering. Between songs Klaas, who is a comedian in everyday life, was telling stories. Either about the song to come, the one that just passed or just taken out of life. This added a very intimate touch to this already familiar atmosphere. So the night felt more like a living room show than an actual show out in a club.

The band performed all the song off the album plus to previously unreleased songs and a cover which was no less than “Enjoy The Silence”. While Gloria performed this song you could see the ages of each one out in the audience. Half of them did not now the song at all while others revived their passed youth with this song.

It was a wonderful show and I sure hope they continue making music. Until then, enjoy the debut album of Gloria.
