Eskimo Joe is an Australian rock band formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1997. The band consists of vocalist and bassist Kavyen Temperley, drummer and guitarist Joel Quartermain and guitarist Stuart MacLeod. Their debut album, Girl, was certified gold in 2001. Their second album A Song Is a City was released in 2004 and was later certified double platinum. Now they have their fourth album released called “Inshalla”.
The music is quite refreshing. Indie combined with rock and pop. Many songs on the album have catchy tunes. Some have oriental elements in it. Each song is very interesting to listen to closely. “Childhood Behaviour” has a little bit of a country sound with a violin and piano in the background. A very thoughtful and touchy song. “Don’t Let Me Down” is a great song to sing along, jump and have a good time. It’s a somehow motivating song that makes you hold together with everybody around you even if you don’t know them. “Falling For You” has something special as well, the vocals are very emotional in different ways, really great. On the album cover you can find a yellow butterfly on black ground. Inside you can find a picture of each member combined with an animal as well as the lyrics. On the last page you can find a picture of all three guys. “Inshalla” is a very great album, you should check it out.
