Martin Hall wrote and produced an album “If Power Asks Why”and in this release he is accompanied by the Mezzo-Soprano Andrea Pellegrini and the classical pianist Tanja Zapolski.
Besides them a whole list of musicians takes part in this project which concluded in a collection of tracks that have many memorable moments to offer. What the tracks have in common, seen as a binding factor is the drama and passion that lays within it. It comes from deep and that highlights the best sides of the musicians. Of course the piano is adding great parts, composed wisely in a way that it could carry a song, but leaves the space open for vocals and to make it even stronger. Leverage benefits the composition as it comes to these.
What may come to notice is the song titles. With a bit odd names here and there you get the idea there is actually a story behind it, bringing you to a comparing with a band like Diablo Swing Orchestra which is known for taking such an approach as well. Though they are more up for a Metal/Rock approach where with this release the classical part has a larger role in the essence. “If Power Asks Why” is a release that is one you don’t hear every day. It will attract a wide variation of audience when it spreads, from the female metal voices fans to gothic fans, to fans of classical music. Give yourself the opportunity to be amazed and get this release.
