Alternative4 is a project formed by Duncan Patterson. You may know his work in bands like Anathema, Antimatter and Ion. In 2011 a debut album got released and this year the band got time to hit the road and bring this music to the venues close to you.

Playing on a Sunday may not always respond in the wildest gigs thinkable, but luckily the music that this band makes suits more to listening carefully than moshing anyway.
The band starts calm, having some classics in their set that make the unknowing feel familiar too. The melancholic sounds do well in this venue, people watching it and respond on it when suitable. The sound of a cello adds a nice dynamic to the whole performance and while smoke is filling the stage the atmosphere becomes a little mystic.
Alternative4 manages to actually reach people and leave them with the melancholy in mind. A nice show for your lazy Sunday afternoon, can’t we have one every week?
