Supports: Ze Mannschaft; Venue: Tivoli Oudegracht, Utrecht (Netherlands)

Electric Six is playing in Tivoli tonight and it seems like it is close to sold-out this night.
The evening started with a support act Ze Mannschaft. The band was not that entertaining, which the front row turning their backs to the stage and start taking pictures of each other rather than watching the band you can clearly say that the band failed to make an impression. Musically, it was not that bad. Some good skills are shown by the guitars, but it is the song writing that lacks in bringing some excitement into it. A missed shot.
The Detroit guys of Electric Six had it in the pocket right away. The audience is on their hand so easily from right when the band starts. Everyone is up for the party and the band seems cheerful. They admit: “You can always tell when a band played in Amsterdam the night before” but that does not mean any compromises are made as it seems.
On the set list of tonight is the band’s debut album “Fire”. They celebrate its success and what it brought to them. With hits like “Dance Commander”, “Danger!, High Voltage” and “Gay Bar” on it, the band has quite a bunch of tracks that everyone sings along. Although very early in their set list the people are already shouting for that track that probably got their name so well spread everywhere: “Gay Bar”. When it is finally there the madness is there and won’t leave before the show is over. Some people are crowd surfing and the rest is simply dancing, jumping and having a good time in whatever way suits them. Tivoli was full of energy and the band did not have to do that much to trigger it all. Shows exactly why the band can keep making their sexy disco tunes.
