Leichtmatrose is a solo projekt of Andreas Stitz founded in 2004. They lyrics are in German and this is his first release. The music sounds like Joachim Witt or Wolfsheim.
The music is very electronic, dreamy and melodic. The lyrics are deep and sometimes you have to listen to it twice – or even more times – to get an idea of one deeper meaning of a song. Some lyrics are even quite tragic, others just sad. The first song starts out quite thought inspiring when it says “replace your heart with a stone, it will only hurt once and then nevermore” or the second song about lies. “Der Mond Trägt Ein Trauriges Gesicht” (the moon carries a sad face) is a very sad song as well.
The album is very interesting and there is a lot to find in each song. Andreas Stitz did not save on creativity. You can find all lyrics in the booklet as well as an amazing artwork, the pictures look somehow fake yet so real. Leichtmatrose “Gestrandet” (ordinary seaman aground) is a very interesting and new album.
