Selig is a German grunge/indie rock band from Hamburg founded in 1992, but had a break from 1999 till 2008. Now they are back together and released a new album named “Und Endlich Unendlich”.
The album is completely sung in German and when listening to it you think of Rio Reiser or Echt, other German artists whose music is as melodic and smooth as Selig’s music is. The lyrics are very deep and thoughtful, about things that happened in life. I guess you could consider “Und Endlich Unendlich” (which means finally forever in English) a soundtrack to ones life. Some songs have a very dreamy melody and with the lyrics you really drift off picturing a little mind movie to it in your head. Some songs are faster and more pop or indie like, others have more synthesizers in it. Very slow and calm does the album lead you trough the alley roads of life, tells you stories about the past, memories and just recent things. The last song is extremely long and closes the album with dreaming away.
This album has a soul on its own and wants you to discover it.
