Ed Laurie is British Singer/songwriter which got his album “Cathedral” released at November 2011. This evening you could see him perform at Paradiso in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
 To call Ed Laurie a Singer/Songwriter is may be a little short-sighted. While listening to Ed Laurie you are basically listening to a poet telling his story in a musical environment and maybe is a bit timid about it.
On stage he is a personality that is performing but seem so into his own world in some way. Surrounded by Italians he can make an intimate setting that makes you feel very welcome anyway, as if you would sit on a couch in some cosy living room listening to the songs he made. But here in Paradiso, where the actual event takes place you get the musical surroundings filled with saxophone adding even more atmosphere and some drums that are quite softly and modest in their present. It’s all about the words, letting these come alive and Ed Laurie seem to succeed in making his presence remarkable. |
