Although Xclaym are from Germany, they claim to be “more Swedish than the Swedish Swedes”. The hardrockers released their album “Premium Asskicking Speedrock” recently.
The nearest Ikea seem to be quite far from Ingolstadt, but where the band got his inspiration from is not hard to notice as soon as the album starts to play. Catchy Hard Rock, coming with decent speed and the and easily hits you with their lyrics. The guys have recorded this release very well, a good balance is made which gives the total outcome a true team feeling. Drums are present very well and doesn’t get ruled out by the guitars. Where the first part of the album is maybe lyrically a bit cheesy sometimes, the band seem to go a bit on a different tour at the second part.
“Premium Asskicking Speedrocking” has a good variation and therefore remains interesting. It contains songs that flow smoothly and you can imagine the band brings a good party when you see them live. It is only their debut and perhaps if a next release would come you could hope for some kick ass solo’s as on this front the band does not really bring something special, but that is just a suggestion as the album as it is now works well.
