20-11-2011 Blue October

Venue: Batschkapp Frankfurt (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Tonight we went to Batschkapp in Frankfurt to see an amazing band that is currently on tour with their new album “Any Man In America”: Blue October.

Blue October is a rock band from Houston, Texas. The band was formed in 1995 and currently consists of Justin Furstenfeld (lead vocals, guitar), Jeremy Furstenfeld (drums, percussion), Ryan Delahoussaye (violin/viola, mandolin, piano, backing vocals), Matt Noveskey (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Julian Mandrake (lead guitar). The venue was packed with fans. Most of them had seen the band before. The cheering was immense as the band entered the stage. Blue October on stage definitely blows your mind – from the very first second until the very last and far beyond. Justin’s voice and appearance carries some kind of magic that makes you feel every word he sings deep down in your body. Blue October played old and new songs, the audience knew them all and loved them. After each song the audience took a deep breath. Blue October’s songs don’t come easy and go deep. Also the fact that most people in the audience connect one or another memory with the songs made this evening even more special and let the songs go even deeper. Blue October mostly played songs of “Any Man In America” plus a few older ones like “Jump Rope”. The entire show lasted for more than ninety minutes including encore. What a wonderful night. Blue October is always a must see when they are in town.
