The Human Abstract is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2004, the group released two albums: “Nocturne” (2006) and “Midheaven” (2008) before releasing “Digital Veil” which is out now.
These guys come with a quite technical form of metal which leaves plenty space for the guitarists to get their skills forward. Yet it has the catchy refrains, vocals being split up to the quite clean vocals and some heavier sounds. The guys are searching for ways to be a little different than what has been done before and succeed with that quite well. A piano comes in unexpected, some strong bass lines there are really a lot of great things to discover on their music. A little remark on this may be that the guitars are quite dominating which after a couple of songs starts to become a bit annoying as it comes back every song again. But The Human Abstract did quite well with their “Digital Veil”. Strong vocals, which come from the band’s new vocalist Travis Richter. It is an album that will need multiple listening before you can give you heart to it, but the band surely brought an album that is worth your money.
