Merging cold, dark, riffs with a touch of the melodic, Byfrost was formed in Bergen, Norway, in 2007 by guitarists HeavyHarms and R.I.P Meister. With HeavyHarms taking vocals, the band recruited a drummer and bass player and recorded and released the “Byfrostmetal” EP in 2008. Their debut album “Black Earth” was released in early 2010 on Painkiller Records to much critical acclaim.

Now Byfrost has released a new EP called “Of Death”. It comes with eight tracks. The fast riffs are strongly pushing through the EP. The new release of Byfrost definitely shakes and wakes you with the first song “May The Dead Rise” : Strong metal music with growled vocals definitely give you an adrenaline rush and causes you to speed up a bit. The second song “Eye For An Eye” starts with the sound of rain as intro which lasts for quite a while before the main music comes creeping upon you with its evil sound. The album continues quite dark and heavy. Byfrost s a great metal band. Their new release is a must have for all you metal fans out there. So go get “Of Death” now and keep your eyes and ears open. I am sure there will be a lot more coming from Byfrost in the near future. Till then, bang your head along to “Of Death”.
