Darmstadt, Schlossgraben Fest, an annual festival in the center of the German city of Darmstadt lasting for four days. This year the highlight of this event was Sunrise Avenue playing on one of the stages on Saturday.
Sunrise Avenue is a Finnish rock quintet. Their style varies from more dynamic rock (e.g. “Forever Yours”) to more melodic ballads (e.g. “Heal Me”). Their most successful single was “Fairytale Gone Bad”, which reached number one in several countries, and as a result, is one of the band’s best-known songs. The area in front of the stage was packed and people gathered around the video screens that were hanging on the sides of the stage. The front row was filled with teenage girls that screamed out loud as the Finns entered the high stage. Sunrise Avenue played old and new songs, everyone could sing along. About 90 minutes Sunrise Avenue entertained the audience, got them to dance, clap and sing along. The cheering after each song was immense. The Finns were overwhelmed by the awesome reception of the audience. The band had a whole lot fun on the huge stage. Sunrise Avenue is an amazing live band and everybody had a blast. |
