Another night in the Batschkapp. Tonight’s show was sold out. The bands playing were vs. Rome and Royal Republic.

The audience was quite young in average, mostly girls too. Warming up for Royal Republic was a German band called vs. Rome, a great rock band from Dortmund, Germany. The venue was packed as they entered the stage. From the very first second on vs. Rome rocked the house and the house rocked with them. Band and audience became one throughout the show. They shouted, danced and cheered along to the brilliant music of vs. Rome. vs. Rome definitely rocked the house. Thriving and catchy rock music, neither band nor audience stood still for a second. You could tell that the band had a lot of fun on stage and that music was their passion. A simply brilliant show.

The main act for tonight was Royal Republic though. Royal Republic is a Swedish rock band formed in Malmö, Sweden in late 2007. The band consists of guitarist/lead singer Adam Grahn, guitarist Hannes Irengård, bass guitarist Jonas Almén and drummer Per Andreasson. As the Swedes entered the stage the house went crazy. The high pitched screaming from the girls in the audience was almost deafening. It seemed like everybody knew the lyrics to each song. The guys on stage enjoyed all the attention and devotion that was coming from their female fans. Later throughout the show there was even underwear being thrown on stage. Royal Republic played old and new songs, rocked around on stage and stepped onto the barricades to be closer to the audience. The bass player even went into the audience. Some people were crowd surfing during the show. Royal Republic played an absolutely brilliant show. Everyone was sweating and the venue was heating up in no time. Good times came to an end but not without an encore. What a wonderful Thursday night at Batschkapp. Can’t wait to see them again.
