Fragilechild is a German gothrock/industrial formation which started in 2005. Dennis Klinke is the man behind the project but in 2008 Mex joined the project to supply guitars.
The EP Selfhate comes with four songs, quite diverse, some a bit harsher than the other but what they have in common is the soft synths as a base of what they do. Here and there a wink to EBM is made as well. “Day By Day” is a song that made me think of acts like Rabia Sorda for its electrics and the way the song is built. It lacks a bit of fury though. This was to be found on the first song “Selfhate” with is a harsher song and reflects the industrial part of the album a little more. So after the first song they took it a step back. The last two songs doesn’t really bring that back the passion but go for a more danceable and calm sound. “Deathwish” comes as a re-recorded version which may explain why it is a bit different.
Maybe the EP gives not the most logical track list, a different order would have kept it a bit more exciting but the pro’s of this albums lay in the dance ability of it. It is easy to pick up so it would do good in an industrial setting.
