Assassin is a German Thrash Metal band which started in the early 80’s. After a couple of years the band splitted after their gear was stolen. Eventually they reunited and some new releases came to the world. After all the years, “Breaking The Silence” is the band’s fourth full length album.
A title that makes sense when the time between the two albums is about six years. As the band seem to take it easy, this goes not only for the releases but also the sound. It’s quite plain Thrash, not too much extra, just a bunch of guys having fun playing which resulted in an album after a while. The band is having the skills to make a good record, but it is to question if they made full use of these qualities with this album. It is lacking some creativity and therefore maybe not an album that is very memorable. It is a decent release though, the speed is quite ok, never really gets fast and with those raw vocals you can enjoy this album during the summer quite well. When the summer is over, the album is out of your memory as well. Maybe the band will come with another release in a reasonable time or make their fans wait again, but this release will do for now.
