Buffalo Tom is an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1986. Its principal members are guitarist Bill Janovitz, bassist Chris Colbourn, and drummer Tom Maginnis. The band’s name is derived from the band Buffalo Springfield and the first name of the drummer. Buffalo Tom became one of the more popular alternative rock bands by the mid 1990s: “Big Red Letter Day” (1993) peaked at #8 and “Sleepy Eyed” (1995) peaked at #4 on the Heatseekers chart. Their album, Big Red Letter Day, peaked at #17 in the UK Albums Chart in October 1993. “Skins” is their eighth studio album.
The new album of Buffalo Tom comes with thirteen brand new tracks. The rock music is very country like. Especially the first song “Arise, Watch” comes with acoustic guitar that adds a very Saloon music-like touch to it. With a slightly smoky voice the new Buffalo Tom album “Skins” sounds simply beautiful. The soft and thoughtful lyrics make this album unforgettable and go deep underneauth your skin. Most songs are very romantic and touchy. The album sounds very acoustic and relaxing. You can tell that Buffalo Tom has quite some experience in making albums. “Skins” is a beautiful rock album with many country elements, very traditional and pure.
