Betzefer is an Israeli groove metal band, originating from the communal settlement Maccabim-Re’ut. The band was formed up in 1998 and was signed to Roadrunner Records from 2005 to 2007. Betzefer is notable for becoming Israel’s first heavy metal band to have released its debut album on a major heavy metal label. Betzefer’s biggest influence is Slayer, while Pantera and Sepultura are also credited as being major influences.
Betzefer has a new – and second – album released now called “Freedom Of The Slave Makers”. Ten new tracks are packed together to this new with full force blasting album. This music is definitely meant to be head banged to. Harsh riffs with evil sounding vocals – which are not distorted, nor is it really shouted, the voice just sounds evil. A fast double kick on the drums that somehow doesn’t speed up the music. Betzefer is no fast music that gives you an impression of being chased, it is relaxed in away that makes you bang along naturally and automatically. “Freedom Of The Slave Makers” is definitely an interesting metal album not only because of its origin. This album might not only be interesting for metal fans but also for regular rockers. So make sure to give it a try. Betzefer’s second album “Freedom Of The Slave Makers” is out now.
