Dr. Acula is an American deathcore band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2005, the group has released two studio albums, and two independent EPs (both of which are long since out of print). They are currently signed to Victory Records. Their band name is derived from an alternative perspective from the name of Dracula. Dr. Acula’s schizophrenic style of extreme music is sure to unhinge even the most stable minds. Drawing influences from grind core, hardcore, metal, and hip-hop, they continue to create their own spastic concoction of “Party Grind” on their latest album, “Slander”.

The new killer album of Dr. Acula is out now. Thirteen brand new tracks packed together on “Slander” come blasting right at you. The intro plays an answering machine where girls left a message. Throughout the entire album there is quite a lot of talking in between the songs. The music itself is fast metal music though, blasting right at you, pushing you way back into your seat. The shouted vocals are hard to understand but you can tell that there is two vocalists taking turns. The album “Slander” just makes you want to bang your head along to the riffs. The cover looks like a comic book cover. Enjoy.
