Bright Eyes is an American indie/folk band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst and consisting of Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha’s indie music scene.
The new Bright Eyes album is released now and is called “The People’s Key”. It starts out with a preacher- like the ones on TV – preaching about today’s world and quoting Genesis. The album continues very interesting and sound not out of space but not earthly either. “The People’s Key” is floating somewhere in this universe, or rather, it contains the universe in its music. Somehow modern yet old school, almost like a futuristic movie in the 80s, this album is an oxymoron in itself. “Shell Games” is an awesomely catchy song that is absolutely outstanding. But the rest of the album is not less amazing. Even though Bright Eyes deliver quite deep lyrics on “The People’s Key” the music creates a happy feeling inside of you. Bright Eyes created something brilliant with “The People’s Key”, something bigger than you are able to grasp with one listen. This album is meant to last long in your player, and I mean long! Get the Bright Eyes’ new release “The People’s Key”.
