Ihresgleichen is a German band making power/folk influenced metal combined with the more heavier material. They have been around since 2005 and their debut came last year. This year they come back with their second release “II”.
The band somehow found a way to bring their German lyrics in a hilarious way as the way they sing seem to be entertaining already. Would say, Tanzwut but way heavier. Their sound s based on a steady guitar work, riffs that fit in the music’s atmosphere well and yet given that heavier touch on it, making it a step away from being the party band. The band continues to hit the darker sides of sound with their instruments, but yet with the lyrics it somehow makes the vocals come back to the point of attention. I am convinced this is a perfect band to see at a festival and some occasional listening at home if you don’t mind listening to German lyrics. What the band could do for an upcoming release, to become that band you keep on listening to, is take a second look at the production. The drums seem a bit too dominant sometimes and overall it seems a bit too polished. Could have been more rough. Overall the album is quite ok, but a bit too playful and experimentally presented.
