Tragedian – Seven Dimensions

Label: Pride & Joy Music
Releasedate: 29-01-2021

Tragedian is a Power Metal formation based in Germany. The band formed in 2002 and is releasing their fourth full length album this year. It is called “Seven Dimensions” and it is available now.

The band has been given a fresh line up about two years ago, so although there are some albums out already it is the first one in this setting. On this release you get fourteen tracks, an hour of playtime which is nice. However, the songs do seem to fit a bit too much in the same template. You could say not to change a winning factor, but within an hour a bit more variation could bring it up a notch.

Luckily for riff admirers there is plenty to hear. The solo’s in this album are driving the music and songs like “Forevermore” or Aloness”broadcast that perfectly. For those who are more into a good ballad, the band has “Forces of Light”, a song that has piano in it and gives some shine to the vocals. The vocals are maybe not the strongest suit in the release but when you get used to it they don’t bother too much and the songs are generally demanding more attention to the guitars anyway.

Altogether I would say it is not a bad release, but not top of the line just yet. The new line up maybe needs to grow a bit more, the songs more tailored to the musicians that are in Tragedian at this point so the total outcome would be stronger.
