New Idea Society was originally founded with a simple enough concept; record songs that are sonically exciting. On their previous full lengths, the lo-fi experimentation of “You Are Awake Or Asleep”, and the mostly live in-studio performances of “The World Is Bright And Lonely”, were forays into different recording worlds. Then this year’s “Quiet Prism” EP with washing synths and melodies contained stronger hints of what was to come. However, with the writing and recording of “Somehow Disappearing”, New Idea Society presents their first fully fleshed out complete album created as a band, with unique sonic recordings that match the song moods and performances that reflect the identities of the individual band members.
The album begins with a slow and thoughtful song whereas the second song is a lot catchier with a rhythm that will definitely get you. “Autumn You” has a great melody that will most likely get stuck in your head for a while. The music can be described as indie music. Groovy tunes and catchy riffs that are definitely different from what you have heard so far. Unique music that is incomparable is just what we need these days. And New Idea Society totally got that on their new album “Somehow Disappearing”. Enjoy their twelve brand new tracks!
