The Las Vegas band The Killers around Brandon Flowers is back with a brand new album. “Imploding the Mirage” is the name of their sixth full length studio album. It comes with ten songs and will take your breath away.
“Imploding the Mirage” lasts for about forty-two minutes. Each song has its own spirit and strongly differs from the previous. And yet, together, they create a wonderful whole. An album filled with dreams, smiles, hope and joy. Some songs get your thoughts wandering, but all songs include the bright and shiny arrangements that we love so much about The Killers. All arrangements are revealing something new with every time you listen to them, whether it is a musical element or an emotion. “Dying Breed” is a song with bright melodies that will make you smile, while “Caution” is a very danceable song. “Fire in Bone” keeps the spirit of David Bowie and Freddy Mercury alive. The last song”Imploding the Mirage” is also the title track and ends the album with a big bang.
With catchy tunes and soft music, the album tends to be fading in with the background, but songs like “Dying Breed”, “Lightning Fields” and “Caution” catch your attention and keep the album from drifting away. The melodies will easily get stuck in your head and each song will leave a light shining in your heart long after they have ended. “Imploding the Mirage” is a wonderful new album by The Killers.
