Art of Empathy – End of I

Label: Aenaos Records
Releasedate: 20 January 2020

Art of Empathy is a solo project from Belgium. It has remained quiet for a while after it’s previous album but now, 10 years later, a new release is out. It is called “End of I” and is available now.

Musically we are listening to some dark music. Folkish, gothic, deeper. Type O Negative kind of darkness. The atmosphere is set with a variety of elements. A sample here but also the vocals are playing a major part in the experience. Altogether you could see this darkness as story upon its own, cinematic in a way. Halfway through the record there are some female vocals to be heard. It creates a nice balance in the sound. It is not hitting a cliché which is definitely a pro point for Art of Empathy.
When we come to the track “Hugging Strangers” we can’t suppress a little smile. Not right for this time we live in now we would say, but maybe it does exactly. There is something about this artist having some two faced words, leaving it for the careful listener to conclude what’s in it.

“End of I” is an interesting release. It takes a bit to listen to it and get the whole. You may want to give it some more spins before you judge. We can recommend that. It is to enjoy in time.
