Acid Drinkers is Polish Thrash Metal band, formed in 1986. Since that year, the band have released quite a long line of releases. Anno 2010 “Acid Drinkers – Fishdick Zwei – The Dick is Rising Again” came out.

It is not the first time they do it, making a whole album full of covers. There is also a first edition “Fishdick”. The band chose a bunch of good old names to cover. Frank Sinatra, Thin Lizzy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donna Summer and Johnny Cash. Quite a varied range, but the Acid Drinkers gave their touch to songs of these artists. Though, it is all quite calm and easy going. The band includes their own sense of humor in it, mainly to notice in the vocals. This is exactly the touch we needed, who needs a copy of the originals as it would be just as easy to get the originals then. Most remarkable songs are “Nothing Else Matters” (Metallica) and “Fluff” (Black Sabbath).
Acid Drinkers seem to be a good festival band. As much as you enjoy listening the album, which could be randomly played in pretty much each rock/metal gathering, it seems to be a band that does not take themselves too serious, but does this all just for fun. Actually, doing it for almost 25 years already and who knows for much longer. This sort of bands will always find an audience.
