The French alternative rockers of The Dukes is not even a year old but yet very passionate to get started in the world of music. “Resilient Lovers” is their first EP and is out now.
A slight scent of romantique is over this disc. A voice with a slight raw edge here and there and some sexy alternative riffs bring a good vibe with them. If you listen careful you can hear the band founds themselves happy listening to electro rock as much as the typical indie music of 2010. Concluding, a modern approach. The four songs on this EP inevitably ask for more, or at least a repeat button. Starting with the catchy “Victory” you immediately get an image what the bands bring live. You could imagine an Sunday afternoon, a drink and this band to play their mellow rock. It has something familiar, bringing a feel good atmosphere up. Towards the end of this EP these French guys go on a more intense track, hypnotic as it might be said. Interesting release, the band shows themselves from different sides but manages to remain in one style, making the songs connected to each other as the differences come slowly by the start of each new song rather than setting huge leaps between them. Keep an eye on them.
