August Kann – How Did All These People Get Into My Room

Label: MTG
Releasedate:
2019

August Kann is an artist making pop music. This year he released the album “How Did All These People Get Into My Room”.

The Norwegian artist has a bit of Singer/Songwriter feel to it, but with a little but extra. The album starts pretty calm but slowly you hear it taking up a bit. A soft voice will please many listeners, folky songs that are easy to listen to. Not overly catchy, not too cheesy but in the right balance from beginning through the end. One is a bit darker than the other. The titletrack is one that seeks a little more of darkness. It contains melancholica, the question is there and you can picture yourself thinking about it.

More remarkable is the song “Louie”. It’s vocals are a bit different, the music a bit calmer and gives a bit of a break from the previous tracks. Ending the album with “Green Out Of Grey” is interesting. At first the song seem to have bit upgoing pace but it dies out in the end.

Altogether the album is a great one to listen to on a sobby afternoon, but it leaves us with the question what would happen if August comes with a full uptempo song. Maybe it’s not what he wants but it would suit his voice well and would surely be a crowdpleaser.
