Dusted Angel – Earth Sick Mind

Releasedate: 12-10-2010; Label: Corruption Recordings
By: Sabine van Gameren

Stoner/Doom band Dusted Angel formed in 2008. The Americans coming with their debut anno 2010, which is called “Earth Sick Mind”.

Listening to Dusted Angel brings you back in time a bit. It’s clear that a band as Black Sabbath is in the line of what these guys do. Though, the band does not really make the best impression at all time. There are hardly any surprising edges to his sound. After two songs the album already starts to get boring. The vocals tend to be raspy but just are not up for that extra touch that drags you into the sound. It seems like his voice does not really match with what he had in mind while creating the music, but is too blind for it himself.
Most remarkable part of the album must be the guitars that at least bring something to hold on but the production of the album doesn’t do justice to them. Not to any aspect of the album actually. Also, all of the songs have the same sort of structure, it’s just too predictable. Overall this record does not seem to be one that gets much recommendation. In this genre there are better albums to find. Let’s hope for some more inspirational work from them whenever they bring a new release to the world.
