The Curse of Millhaven is a formation from Belgium making Melodic Death Metal. Recently the band released “Threshold”, their latest full length.
First thing to notice is that the guys have paid good time thinking about their production. The sound of the album is quite massive, giving the band a bit extra. Some sinister vocals, well placed in the sound, not too much upfront leaving plenty of space for the guitars. The band implemented some interesting riffs that give the band its own face.
The band has taken care of enough variation withing the tracklist, listen for example to “Path of Desperation” which is strong on the tempo and then there is the instrumental “Enlightenment” which title explains all. With the energy that the band showing us, it does make us curious what we can expect from this band if we would see them live. Perhaps they will cross our path somewhen.
As some of the tracks have their catchiness the album is one you quickly put up for a respin. The Curse of Millhaven seem to embrace the Swedish sound but never stray too far from themselves. Admirable, The Curse of Millhave has delivered a fine album that you will listen quite some times.
