The Green Car Motel is the songwriting and performing partnership of Rick Garcia and René Reyes. They grew up in San Diego, a small town in south Texas located 80 miles east of the Mexican border. Now this particular San Diego is a whole other “Diego” of sorts. Here it’s all about oil fields, cattle ranches, watermelon patches and cotton fields. It’s a rugged way of life and not uncommon to find yourself working in such jobs to make ends meet.
The music on and by “The Green Car Motel” is mostly Latin music with a touch of Tango as well as other Latin elements. Even country elements are to be found throughout the self titled album. The songs vary between English and Spanish lyrics with a majority of Spanish songs though. The music has a summer sound. The soft songs seem to be embracing your heart as well as bringing some sunshine into your heart. The Green Car Motel’s new album is definitely a good album to travel with. Passionate music all along its way keep you going and keep your head up. Enjoy the new music on “The Green Car Motel” and have a safe journey along with these thirteen tracks.
