The British band Bloom is making Alternative Rock. Currently they are releasing their debut album “All That Is”, while they are working on their second one.
The four guys bring catchy tunes; some easily to end up in the charts, some more modest which will do very well in intimate club shows. At first sight the songs seem to be quite calm but the last songs at the album have some more balls.
Vocalist Andy Race has something in his voice that make him touchable. Soft, playful and brings on the mother feelings to several ladies when the tone of music turns a bit to the dark side. “Falling” is such an emotional song brought with a deep passion while “Love n Hate” shows a different sort of passion in the form of more up tempo rock, guitars that finally seem to step forward. Because that is actually where you have been waiting up, getting this in the very last song of this album. The whole mix of the album is very focused on the vocals, giving the impression we are listening to the product of a singer/songwriter.
Overall this album has various beauties. A piece of advice, throw them all in a different order, headphones, a cup of tea and a lazy chair. There you go.
