Sharon Next is an electro band from Austria, founded in 1995 but had a five year break in between then and now. They worked with bigger artists such as The Cruxshadows, And One and others already. Sharon Next have four CDs released already. And now they released their new album “Fast Farewell”.
The music somehow reminds of Depeche Mode with the synthesized melodies and the slow melodic and melancholic sound. A few songs are a little faster like for example “Der Hase”. But mostly the album is just floating along, slow and calm. No fast moves seem to be made on this album. The songs are in German and English, some with a deeper meaning some just taken out of life. A little romance and some tragedy can be found on it as well. The album layout is held in grey as well as some black and white. The pictures are dull and sad. Sharon Next’s album “Fast Farewell” is not very exiting nor an innovative piece of music, a nice to have for die hard Depeche Mode fans and people who love that kind of music though. We might hear some of the tracks at some synth pop parties.
