Extreme Metal project Ticket to Hell comes with a second release. The new album from the Mexican Jacobo is called: “Operation: Crash Course”.
Listening to the latest release of Jacobo makes us think back to his previous album “Manmade Paradise”. That album came quite filthy, raw and left smooth productions out of it, but with this one there seems to be a little more done. Overall the sound comes over stronger, huge improvements are made on the vocal side and guitars are definitely a lot better in its place as well. What comes out less this time are the drums, they tend to fall a bit more in the background as the other points get more attention. Whether you experience this a s a bad thing, is to question, the total mix is still very pleasant to listen to.
The eight songs that this album bring are in good line with each other, no song that jumps out more than the other though.
Fans of old Thrash Metal mixed with Death will find this one interesting, the album shows a Jacobo grown in what he does, setting down a decent product. Less raw than its previous, but still aggressive as it was.
