Saratan is a Polish Death/Thrash band. The band is formed in 2003 and their album “Antireligion” is the second full length of the band.
Their previous album “The Cult of Vermin” never really convinced as being the next big thing which was promised by then. Wondering if this album would be a step forward when listening to it I found out that the band have made a progress for sure. The band said goodbye to one of their guitarists and is now a three piece. The band makes better and more interesting compositions, they certainly improved on that, it all seem to work out a bit better. This does not make the album a crème de la crème of the metal scene yet, but now we got something to work with. The band leans on the influences of the past and for a Thrash Metal fan this album will do just fine. On this album there are three guest solo’s included which brings some variation in the songs. This makes the album stand out a bit more.
“Antireligion” is one that shows progress, a band on its way to something bigger. If they keep this going, the next one must be one that really hits the spot, but for now this one will do.
