Terakai – The Last Stand

Releasedate: 05-05-2010;
By: Sabine van Gameren

Terakai is a Metalcore formation from the UK. The band has been formed in 2009 and “The Last Stand” is their debut EP.

For a band that brings their debut, this disc might surprise many. The band had to suffer the tragical death of a band mate, but decided to go on. The speed is on when the intro finishes and you can hear the guys taken their sound into some modern approach, leaving the vocals a bit on the brighter side. Clean parts do not get too comfortable with emo which gives the music some extra balls. Screams, guitar solos the band knows how to bring it and put in a mix that it doesn’t overkill. What stands out most is the way the band takes you on a journey to all their best sides, one by one, like sitting in a sightseeing tour bus popping your eyes out time after time when discovering something new that is interesting. Here and there you hear some influences of their favorite bands, sometimes a bit more obvious than would have been needed, but overall this band sets a good album into the world that can be recommended to people who are into the Metalcore for sure. Remember this is their debut, what else will come from them, what will they bring when you get a whole album full of them? Right, get it while its hot!
