Locusta is an American band making Death Metal. They formed in 2006 and the album “Locusta” is their debut album.
This debut stands quite strong to set a name. Locusta is a band that gets in extremes. In aggression, deep vocals, riffage that goes all through you, but backed with calm drums. Maybe not the most expected and don’t be fooled, you hear plenty of the hard work too, but yet a choice that snaps attention. The band plays with tempo’s knows to trigger you. Would sometimes hear the guitars upfront, there are parts for you, but when you prefer that aggressive vocals to lead you into it? You will have your moments too. Plenty of diversity with this band. “Death or Devotion” is such a typical song that brings you those different aspects all in one. And even more surprised to hear the start of the next song “2012”.
The Americans have done quite a good job for their debut full length, I must say that I am impressed. Let’s hope the band decides to cross the big ocean some when to give their music a shot in Europe too. With such a nice debut, there can only be more greatness coming.
