Jack Hody Johnson (born May 18, 1975) is a Hawaii resident, singer-songwriter, musician, filmmaker and surfer known for his work in the soft rock and acoustic genres. In 2001, he achieved commercial success after the release of his debut album, Brushfire Fairytales. He has since released four more albums, a number of EPs and surfing movies/soundtracks. He is also known for organizing an annual event, the Kōkua Festival.
Now Jack Johnson released his new album “To The Sea”. The album starts out slow and pure. Jack Johnson and his guitar only, clean and free from all the additional sounds he prepares your for the journey “To The Sea”. slowly but surely more and more instruments and extra sounds are being added to the songs, but somehow the music still seems and sounds very pure. Also are the songs very easy going, spreading a relieving kind of happiness that makes you forget all the worries that usually keep you busy. A nice summer song is “At Or With Me”. On “When I Look Up” Jack has vocal support. It is only a short song though. Further and deeper into the album it spreads a fun mood, a little playful and always happy. When you listen to Jack Johnson you simply can’t be sad. Hearing the songs makes you smile. It must be a Hawaiian secret how he does that. Sweet album. Enjoy
