Alfahanne – Atomvinter

Label: Indie Recordings
Releasedate: October 4th

The Sweden-located band “Alfahanne” released three records in Swedish, the last one “Atomvinter” includes couple of tracks in English. If you are waiting for nuclear winter and Apocalypse, don’t miss the chance of listening to this album in every available options.

Two steps of choosing this album: watching “Atomvinter” on Youtube channel and checking what “Indie Recording” has on its list (there was “Kvelertak”). For me it was the first experience with “Alfahanne” which turned into vivid impression. Already mentioned “Atomvinter” has sorrowful sound and touches of despair. The band named their own style “Alfapocalyptic” rock that combined principles of melodic and black metal with punk singing style. In the end it’s softer than black metal and milder than punk. Despite the fact, the lyrics was written in Swedish, it has own dramatic charm.  For example, two powerful tracks “Sluten Cirkel” and “Sakna Mig Som Om Jag Vore Död”. The first pointed song has solid guitar solo, the second – punk-concerned vibes. Amongst tracks oriented for English speakers, I’d take “The heavy burden”, the classic metal example.

The well-harmonized and middle-screamed “Atomvinter” provides intensity of emotions. Some tracks are addictive and worthy to be re-listen several times. There is a good chance to find out what other albums of “Alfahanne” sound too.

Pehr Skjoldhammer – vocals/guitar
