07-05-2010 Bloodlights

Venue: Cafe central, Weinheim (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Tonight we were in Weinheim to see Bloodlights. It’s been a while that I had seen that band. In the meantime they had released their new album “Simple Pleasures” which they now presented live. Bloodlights is a hard rock/melodic rock 4-piece hailing from Oslo, Norway, formed by Captain Poon, ex-Gluecifer. Currently Bloodlights is touring Europe.

With a new drummer and a new album they stopped by in Weinheim tonight to rock the little town at Café Central. Bloodlights were the only band playing. That’s also why they began later than normally. By the time they began, there were quite some people. Several people with Turbojugend jackets where in the audience. The light was brilliant and so was the sound. Bloodlights played old and new songs in a great mix. The audience danced to the music and had a blast. The band played in perfect unison. You could tell that the Norwegians really enjoyed being on stage. The singer talked with the audience in between the songs and the cheering. It was impossible to stand still during their show. Especially throughout the old songs such as “Hammer And The Wheel”, “Bloodlights”, “Where The Stars Don’t Shine” and “Bullshit On Your Mind”. But also to the new songs the audience rocked out big time. Many of them owned a copy of the new album “Simple Pleasures”. Bloodlights played for more than an hour plus encore of three songs. Throughout the end of the last song they introduced each other to the audience and each one got to play a solo. Bloodlights put up a brilliant show and it was so great to see them again. Bloodlights is a gorgeous live band. Don’t miss out on them!
