Miist is a Polish Prog formation that mixes their music with some heavy psych. The band released their album “All The Useless Spinning” a while ago.
What lays
in the basis of this band’s music is a quite free way of playing. It seemed
that the whole is created quite spontaneously and has some natural flow to it.
Here and there things may develop in a slow way but some abrupt changes are to
be found as well. Some of the songs tick well over 11 minutes, so one needs
some encouragement to sit that all out, but with a playful approach the band
makes the album easy to listen to. The band has put quite some elements into
their sounds, so one definitely need multiple spins to grasps the whole of it
and yet one keeps discovering. An atmospheric surrounding is contributing to
the listening experience as well.
The album goes beyond what one may expect at first. The duo behind it have
taken their time to think it all through and that shows off. What is lacking
for the band is some proper promotion as it would probably please a larger
audience when brought to their attention propely. Some tour maybe? Let’s see
what is ahead for them.
- Philosophy of Pessimism

- Raindrops Lie
