Horizons Edge – Let The Show Go On

Horizons Edge is female fronted Power Metal formation from Australia. The band released their debut album in 2015 and are now, anno 2019 returning with a new album, their third, called “Let The Show Go On”. It is available now.

The band creates symphonic, catchy Power Metal. Hearing that, you can quite write out what to expect, the five do not really stray far from the cliché. But, what works in their advance are the vocals. If you are not really into the genre the vocals can often be the cause of it not passing that tollgate. Vocalist Kat is not the voice that one may expect, it is a bit androgyne even.
And although the music of this band is not something new under the sun, there are certainly some parts one will appreciate. The guitars are well executed, some good riffs are to be found. The balance in the mix came out well, there is no overdose on anything, something that we see too often at Power Metal formations. So they certainly score their points there.

“Let The Show Go On” is not a bad release, quite ok we would say. The band could maybe highlight their own unique elements a bit more, give it more of their own face. But it will be a good one to give a try.
