Bulletsize is a Swedish Death Metal band from Sweden. Their base comes from Thrash Metal though. “The Apokalypse” is their EP which released in 2009.
First thing to notice with this EP is the artwork, where lots of things happen. The introduction track leads to some piece of music that clearly still has the Thrash influences in it. Mostly hearable in the riffs. To hear also the steady drumming by Niklas Gidlund that made interesting choices to keep the music away from being too stereotypical.
Interesting to tell is that in the fifth song there are some clean vocals to hear, which were not heard before on this EP what makes the music some more catchy but does not tame the sound. It still remains its tension and therefore this song sounds like an absolute crowd pleaser live gigs.
“The Apokalypse” has five tracks that are significantly different from eachother, but yet are in line with their style. A good collection and with enough variation to keep you listening and wondering for what the band would bring in a whole album. This sort of EP’s trigger your curiosity and the band managed to be surprising with it. A tip to take away when finding it.
